DEADPOOL, a review from my point of view(spoiler alert)
DEADPOOL– This past weekend my family and I went to see the much talked about movie Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool, and after watching the movie, I can’t think of anyone better than he to have played the role. As a matter of fact, this was a movie that I thought I was not going to like, as I am not a superhero fan and never had seen any of the Xmen movies. But when the movie came out two weeks ago, I found my self planning the movie outing with the family and I owe it all to Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds has been a favorite actor of mine since I watched him in the proposal with Sandra Bullock.
The movie appeals to both men and women. Be warned, this movie is not for the little ones as it does have a lot of sexual references and nudity. At the end of the movie I knew who Deadpool was and how he came about. I understand that Deadpool is a character that is very popular in the comic book world and this is the first time that Deadpool who is a marvel character has been featured in a movie.
The movie starts off with Deadpool hunting down the Ajax, played by Ed Skrein, who is the guy who turned him into Deadpool. The movie had a lot of blood scenes for my taste of movies, I am usually a rom-com kind of woman.
Waiting for Ajax to show up
I enjoyed the scene where he met his love interest Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarin who is a very beautiful girl. I was however, at little confused as it jumped from the moment Wade Wilson, aka, Deadpool met Vanessa to where they were already living together, or at least it seemed that way. Their world fell apart when Wade was diagnosed with cancer. Not sure how The Recruiter, played by Jed Rees (scary dude) finds him but he does and tells him that he can cure him of his cancer and make him immortal. As in every love story, something has to happen that tears them apart and this time it was the love that Wade had for Vanessa. Wanting to be cured from cancer, he decided to take the offer of the Recruiter and leaves his future baby’s mama.
Wade meet Vanessa
When Wade arrives to the recruiter’s home, he is taken to an underground laboratory where Ajax and his assistant Angel Dust, played by Gina Carano transform normal people into freaks. I am still not sure what the purpose of the transformation is. Please don’t get upset, as I said in the beginning, I am not a superhero fan and I am just writing my take of the movie.
Meet Angel Dust
Wade had to endure extreme torture and was becoming annoying to Ajax with his humor that Ajax decided to torture him even more by depriving him oxygen causing the mutation to take place and making him a superhero but also disfiguring him. Wade wanting to escaped managed to take a match from Angel Dust’s coat and while no one is in the laboratory, ignites a fire causing the building to explode. After seeing the aftermath of the explosion, Ajax assumed that Wade had perished, boy was he wrong.
Ajax realizes that Wade is alive and to get to him, he kidnaps Wade’s future baby mama Vanessa. Wade along with Teenager Negasonic Warhead, played by Brianna Hildebrand and Colossus who are both Xmen are able to save Vanessa from the hands of the bad guys Ajax and Angel Dust.
Meet Teenage Negasonic Warhead, Deadpool and Colossus
I loved this movie, it had all my favorite movie attributes, witty, funny, action, love and of course Ryan Reynolds. If you are not a fan of this type of movies like me, I am telling you that you are going to love Deadpool. In fact I liked it so much that I am actually blogging about it. Go figure.
