KEN’S HEALTHY DELIGHTS
If you are looking for a healthy dining restaurant in the Kendall area where you can create your own salads, wraps, crepes and smoothies or at least control what goes in your salad, I think you might enjoy dining at Ken’s Healthy Delights located at the Palms @ Town & Country shopping center.
I first found out about Ken’s Healthy Delights back in April when my boss took me out for lunch to celebrate Administrative Assistants Professional Day. My boss eats extremely healthy as she is a vegetarian so even though it was my day, I didn’t want to make her eat something she didn’t like, so I told her that I am fine going anywhere she wanted to go for lunch. She mentioned a salad place near our job across our job, so we walked across the street to this very bright and green restaurant, next to Two Brothers’s pizzeria.
As soon as we walked in, I couldn’t help but to notice all the topping choices they had for either their salads, wraps, crepes and why not, smoothies. I felt as if I was at a frozen yogurt place where you get to add all the toppings that you want on the yogurt. Okay, I might be exaggerating but you get my point.
I ordered the chicken Caesar crepe as it is my favorite and my boss ordered a salad with all the toppings that she liked. It was cool to watch them put all the toppings in a bowl and chop it up. My wrap needless to say, was huge and delicious and my boss’s salad looked healthy and she loved it. Therefore, I knew that I wanted to either bring my family to try Ken’s Healthy Delights or order to go. Yes, of course, you can go to the grocery store and get all the ingredients to make a great tasting salad at home, but let’s face it; once in a while we want someone else to make it for us. Don’t you agree?
A few weeks ago, my son, who we are catering to now a day because he is recovering from a broken ankle and surgery, wanted to eat something healthy like a salad; so I mentioned this new place that I had gone to a few months ago. He glanced at the menu which I had brought home for my family to see and he wanted to try the Strawberry walnut salad, I of course, got another Chicken Caesar crepe, and my eldest ordered the Chicken fajita crepe. Everything was really good and plentiful.
If I may suggest that if you order the strawberry walnut salad and you don’t like feta cheese, you ask them go easy on it, as there was a lot of it on my son’s salad and my son was not a fan. Other than that, he loved his salad with the cranberry and raspberry dressing.
So if you are in the mood for something healthy, give Ken’s Healthy delights a try. One more place to dine at in the Kendall Area.
